Farrow to Finish Pork

Farrow to finish pork! The pigs we raise for butcher have all been born right here on the farm. From day one they have access to the outdoors where they get to practice being pigs! After weaning they are moved to paddocks where they are rotated on pasture. They are supplemented with grain from our local feed mill, Conway Feed, and when available, raw goats milk, apples, and squash. We raise purebred Gloucestershire Old Spot pigs which makes for some tasty, flavorful, well marbled pork. Nothing like what you will get at the store! GOS are known as a lard breed but don't let that scare you! If you have ever wanted to render your own lard, which is very easy, to make some of the best biscuits or pie crust you will ever have, this is the pig for you! Their meat is moist because of this marbling and fat. You just can't beat it! We generally raise anywhere from 4 to 8 pigs a year so availability is limited!
